4th of July

Jul 4, 2014

Happy Independence Day from Malaysia! I hope your day is filled with lots of love and BBQ. I am so jet-lagged right now I could fall asleep any second. We got into Singapore this morning at midnight and I told myself I was going to the hotel and straight to bed. In a perfect world I would've gone to sleep around 1:30 and gotten up at a decent hour. Of course that isn't even close to what happened. The car that was supposed to take us to our hotel ended up breaking down, and we had to wait at the airport for an extra 2 hours until everything was sorted out. We tried to take a taxi, but our hotel was in Malaysia and the taxis didn't travel across the border. We were doomed. I was prepared to sleep on the floor at the airport, but we didn't have to worry about that. The company finally sent out a new car and we were on our way.

By the time we got to the hotel I was so excited to be there that I just couldn't go to sleep.  I ended dozing off at 7 am only to have to wake up at 9:30 for breakfast. I could've slept in but when I heard that the breakfast was complimentary I had to get up. There was no way I was passing up a free cultural breakfast. So here I am now, 8 hours later, and still no sleep.  I'm trying to stay up a few more hours so that my sleeping schedule can get back on track. I've been making friends with people around the hotel (mostly employees) to keep from falling asleep. One of them even offered to take some of my blog pictures for me! Such nice people I tell you. If you are ever in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, the Renaissance is the place to stay!

On to the outfit. This was my travel attire for our 25 hour trip. Some of the photos were taken in Houston and the others in Tokyo. Enjoy and I will talk to you very soon!

Scarf: Buffalo Exchange (similar herehere, here)
Pants: Zara
