M.I.A

Sep 26, 2014

The weekend is finally here! Yess! I've been quite lazy this week when it came to leaving the house other than going to work, class, or to workout. I'm making an effort to leave the house this weekend and hang out with my friends who by now probably think I moved or something because I haven't seen them in so long. I've been in hiding. The definition of M.IA.  Glued to my computer. Taking pictures and blogging. I know, I have a problem. I'm working on it.... starting with this weekend.

These pictures are from last weekend while I was in Houston. My little brother took these for me and  I think he did a pretty good job. I feel so blessed to have family and friends that are always so willing to help out. It makes the whole experience so much more satisfying knowing that I'm doing something I love with the people I love.

TopGolf

Sep 24, 2014

Hey hey! Yesterday I went to TopGolf with my man friend and basically had the time of my life. If you've never heard of TopGolf, it's the new hot spot that combines competition with entertainment through golf. The basic object of the game is to hit microchipped golf balls into different targets in order to score points. The closer the ball lands to the middle of each target, the more points you get. For the people like me who don't have any experience playing golf, it's just fun hitting the ball around and not really caring how far it goes. For the more experienced people, there are different games you can play that are sure to test your golfing skills.

What I love the most about this place is the atmosphere. The modern design, friendly staff, lounging areas, and well presented food and drinks really gives you that high-quality experience.  If you're wondering if you need to be good at golf to play, the answer is no. Im actually terrible at it and my hand-eye coordination is a complete struggle, but I still really enjoyed myself.  All you really need is a fun person to go with and you'll enjoy yourself. Aside from the actual game, there's music, food, and a bar for anyone who just wants to hang out with friends and have a good time.

Staying on Track

Sep 22, 2014

Good Morning! Can I just say that I am obsessed with these pants? Everything about them is just yes, yes, YES! The fit is perfect, the length is perfect, and the print is so vibrant they are sure to turn a few heads. I never got the opportunity to attend fashion week, but if I did, this would be an outfit I'd consider wearing.

Im going home today! When I say home I'm talking about Houston. Technically my home is here in Austin, but I'll always consider Houston my home because that's where I grew up and that's where my family is. I haven't been home in what feels like forever even though it's really only been a month.

My freshman year of college I literally went home every chance I got. I had weekend track practice most of the time so I only had a free weekend once or twice a month, but if I was free I was heading  home. It's crazy how times have changed because as the years passed I started going home less and less to the point where I was only going home on the major holidays.

Lessons from Home

Sep 17, 2014

Growing up, my parents constantly gave me advice and tips on how to be a better person. Those tips have now turned into lifelong lessons that I will never forget. I love sharing parts of my life with you so I've decided to start this new series called "Lessons from Home" where I'll share one lesson I learned growing up that has helped shape me into the person I am today. Of course, I'd love to hear your thoughts as well as any life lessons you've learned over the years.

Lesson 1: Be Nice to People

I have been slightly obsessing over Criminal Minds lately. The show has been out since 2005, but for some reason I'm just now getting into it.  I seriously cannot get enough. I get home from work and find myself checking the TV guide and getting so excited when I see that Criminal Minds will be on for the next 5 hours. You know what that means? Get a bowl of cereal or a quick dinner during the commercial breaks, but other than that I probably won't be leaving the couch.

Color block Maxi Dress

Sep 7, 2014

Good Morning! Currently wishing I was in New York for Fashion Week, but I'm here in good ole'  Austin, TX getting ready for a Sunday just like any other. For me that includes church, grocery shopping, and maybe some homework (but probably not until the last possible moment). I've noticed that the grocery store is always packed on Sunday. Personally, I just go because of the free samples and I'm probably not the only one. It would be easier to go during the week so I can avoid the crowd, but why pass on free food? Never. If it's around 1 p.m. you know where to find me :).

Here's a look we shot over the weekend. It is still hot as ever in Austin so I'm still in summer mode, but I can't wait to start dressing for the colder weather.

Black & Navy

Sep 5, 2014

Happy Friday! It seems like this week went by so fast for me, and I am definitely not complaining. The job interview I went to on Tuesday was successful and today is my first day in the office! While deciding what to wear I realized that I need more work clothes. I've been loving the midi skirt trend lately and I think I am going to add a few to my wardrobe. All the mini skirts that I have are not going to to cut it for the workplace. I am fairly tall (5' 10") so most skirts look extremely short on me which makes it difficult to shop for more modest occasions. I still want to look cute, but I want to have more options than a pair of black slacks. With that being said I am on the hunt for some stylish pieces that won't make me look like I'm in my 30s, but still modest enough for the work place. You can expect more outfits for the work place that can easily be worn for other occasions on the blog soon since I am now a working girl.

Of course, if you have any suggestions for new content you would like to see here on The Brisk Life don't hesitate to let me know! Here is a navy and black outfit that I wore a while back. I love mixing these two colors because it's so unconventional and I never listened to those made up fashion rules anyways. Enjoy the photos, have an amazing Friday, and be sure to smile at someone today :)

Ubud Monkey Forest

Sep 4, 2014

Hello Hello! Today we are journeying back to the beautiful Bali. During my stay my sister and I journeyed to the Ubud Monkey Forest where we had such an unreal experience. When we decided to go the forest I knew we would see a lot of monkeys, but I had no idea we would be able to interact with them the way we did. I got to feed monkeys! I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was. Every zoo I have been to in the past had a "no touching the monkeys" policy so to be so up close and personal with these furry animals is a rare opportunity and I enjoyed every second of it. They were all so friendly, probably because they knew I had bananas, but either way I was still feeling the love. I had a couple monkeys follow me around, and one even went as far as tugging on my dress asking for more bananas haha. I had such a great time and my sister tried to capture as many pictures for me as possible. Here they are! Enjoy.

Sep 2, 2014

Good Morning! Quick post today because I have a job interview in a couple hours and I don't know what I'm wearing yet. Story of my life. I also start classes today....back to reality for me.  I took these pictures a couple months ago, but I never got a chance to share them so here they are! I hope everyone has a great day!

Game Day

Sep 1, 2014

Hey hey!! Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend. This is what I wore to the football game festivities on Saturday. I ended up not going to the game because it was way too hot, and I could not deal with the heat. I brought two cold bottles of water with me, and they were done within the first hour.  I don't even really like water so the fact that I drank two bottles so quick just tells you how hot and parched I was. {fun fact --  Parched is one of my favorite words. I'm never just thirsty and need a drink. I'm always parched and need a beverage.}

I  know, I should be used to it by now because I always have track practice in the heat of the day, but I feel like this situation is different. When I'm at practice,  I'm focused on the workout and not on how hot it is, or the fact that I'm getting darker by the second. Trust me, I do notice the heat which is why i'm grateful for the water stations and cold towels, but it is still bearable because I know it is going to benefit me in the end. Not to mention I'm only outside for two hours, and I am wearing much less clothes than I would be on any other occasion. In any other situation I feel like I just get hot very quickly and it's way more uncomfortable than being at practice.  I spent 3 hours tailgating and didn't see myself standing at the game for another 3 hours in the heat. So I settled for tailgating and watched the game at home with the a/c on :). Have a fantastic Labor Day and I will talk to you tomorrow!

Moving Forward

Aug 30, 2014

As some of you may know, I have one more semester left of my college career and until I have to face the "real world". Now, more than ever I am feeling the pressure to choose a profession and make my way into corporate America. Having graduated from one of the top business schools in the nation, I watched majority of my friends and classmates accept job offers on Wall Street or top corporate companies. Since I chose to go to graduate school I did not have to make those life changing decisions so soon, but it is coming and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I have been in school for most of my life, and to think that in just a few months I will no longer be labeled a "student" again is quite daunting. I constantly get asked what I want to do after I graduate, and to be completely honest I still have no clue. From high jump, to a full time job, to blogging, my life could go in so many different directions. So while I do not have any concrete plans at the moment, the most important thing is that I am prepared to go in whichever direction necessary to achieve my long term life goals.
Attending the Magic Fashion Trade Show made me realize that blogging is something I love to do. I love talking to people about what I have started and sharing my passion with them. To have that creative space where you have the freedom to post whatever you want is something that I truly appreciate. I have so many plans for the future of my baby blog and I hope you will join me on my journey.  I love you all and I will talk to you on Monday!

Happy Friday!

Aug 29, 2014

I finally made a Facebook Page

Happy Friday! I am soo ready for the weekend. Tomorrow is the first football game at the University of Texas and I am so excited! Saturday game days for me usually consist of: wake up, get ready, tailgate, football game, home to get ready again, downtown to celebrate a win or loss (last year it was mostly losses haha). Really, we weren't celebrating anything. We just went downtown because it always seems like the place to be on a Saturday night. I really want to make the most of my last semester in college so I'll be attending as many school related events as I can. There may not come a time again when the responsibilities are few and the opportunities are endless so make the most of your college years while you can.  So tomorrow we go back to early mornings long nights, burnt orange, and football (hopefully better this year).  I cannot wait. There is nothing quite like UT game days and I'll do my best to capture it on camera for you.

Here is the outfit I wore on the final day of the Magic Fashion Trade Show. If you missed day 1 and day 2 be sure to check them out! Have a fabulous weekend!

Army Like

Aug 27, 2014

Happy hump day! Here is the outfit I wore on the second day of the Magic Fashion Trade Show.  I am currently loving army print so I just had to incorporate it into one of my looks.  I found this button-up last minute at Forever 21. It definitely did its job in completing the look I was going for, but I am currently on the hunt for a button-up or jacket with a brighter color payoff and a thicker material. Let me know what you think about this look, and if today is your first day back at school I hope it is an amazing one! :)

Check back on Friday to see what I wore on the last day of the Magic Fashion Trade Show!

White & Orange for Day 1 of Magic

Aug 26, 2014

Hey! It's almost 4am and I am wide awake. I know, I need to work on my sleep schedule, but I feel so much more productive at night. School is starting up so I need to work on fixing it ASAP. My official first day of class is tomorrow, but my professor sent an email saying we won't be meeting until next week. Seeing that it is my only class means an extra week of summer vacation for me! I have one more week to stay up late for no reason but just because I want to. One more week of not having to write long papers or meet up for group projects. One more week of freedom then it's back to the school grind.

Charles and Keith - My new treasures!

Aug 25, 2014

Side Note: I just finished watching the VMAs, and my gosh....could Beyonce be any more perfect? At first I didn't even think she was going to show up because she was MIA the entire night, but then she graced the stage with something close to a 15 minute performance and it was just perfect. To top it off, THAT moment at the end of her performance with Jay-Z and Blue just melted my heart. I can watch it over and over again and never get tired. Beyonce was born to perform, and I will be forever grateful that I got to live to see her do what she does best. I'm sorry.. Okay I'm done professing my love for the Queen, now on to the real post.

While I was shopping in Singapore I stumbled upon this store that instantly made my eyes widen and my jaw drop. It was love at first sight, and what started off as window shopping turned into 2 large shopping bags between my sister and I. Charles & Keith where have you been all my life? If you are looking for good quality for a price that won't make your bank account frown, I am telling you, this is the brand for you. I love handbags, and I am all for splurging on that bag you've had your eye on for quite some time, but when you find a bag that has both quality and a low price point, you've hit the jackpot.  Charles & Keith's purses are such great quality, and the styles are very much on trend. I have been into smaller purses lately so I opted for two cross-body bags that I can carry around everyday. I am so in love with them and could not be happier with my decision. I've had them for over a month now and the quality hasn't changed a bit. I carry the black buckle bag almost every day and it still looks brand new. As for the orange sling bag, I love that I can throw it over my shoulder and it will give any plain outfit the pop of color it needs.

Casual

Aug 23, 2014

This time last year I was moving into a new apartment and having a meltdown because the movers I booked cancelled last minute (reasons why booking the cheapest quote on Craigslist isn't always the best move). This will be my first time since being in college that I haven't moved. After 4 years of moving from dorm to dorm to apartments, it feels so good to finally be able to stay in one place. With that being said, I have had a lot more free time this summer. Normally I would be shopping for furniture and decorations or unpacking boxes, but not this year. I'm spending the rest of the day planning looks for future blog posts and heading to a movie later tonight. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

Aug 22, 2014

Happy Friday! I'm currently on a flight back to Austin and I thought what better way to kick off these posts from Vegas than with the amazing Cosmopolitan Hotel. This was my first time staying at a major glamorous hotel on the strip and I absolutely loved it. I feel like the Cosmopolitan has my name written all over it. Everywhere I turned there was a perfect backdrop for photos. The hotel was designed in such a way that you can't help but be in awe while walking through the hallways. So many textures and patterns mixed together, but somehow it all works.

Dreaming of Bali

Aug 19, 2014

Hey everyone! Right now I am in Vegas for the Magic Fashion Trade Show, and am absolutely loving it. This is my second time here, and I swear I love it more every time I visit. This city puts me in such a great mood, and the fact that I get to attend a fashion event all week puts me on cloud 9. Of course, I will be posting about my time here so make sure to stay updated!

These photos are from my trip to Bali. Looking back on all these pictures from my trip to makes me want to go back so bad. Seriously, if I had to spend the rest of my life here I would not object. I love laying on the beach all day and not doing anything. We don't have any good beaches near Austin so every time I get a chance to go to a good beach I make sure to take advantage. Both of my parents are Jamaican so I feel like I was born with the love of the island life already inside of me. I've always loved visiting tropical destinations, but Bali is definitely at the top of my list. The island is so rich in culture and full of so many scenic destinations. Whether you are looking for a relaxing or adventurous vacation, Bali will definitely have something for you.

Life in Nusa Dua

Aug 11, 2014

YESSS IM BACK! It has been weeks since my last post although it feels like months. I got back from my oversees trip July 27th and got super sick. I have no clue exactly what I had because I refused to go to the doctor, but I think it was something along the lines of the flu. Needless to say I was in bed all week. I wanted to post, but my brain wasn't functioning properly so I just decided to take a break until I was back at 100%. Well, now I'm back and better than ever and won't be leaving any time soon. I hope you are prepared for lots of travel posts!

Food for Thought

Jul 22, 2014

You know it's a casual day when all you have to think about is what to eat. My sister found this restaurant called Food for Thought on Yelp, and the food looked so delicious we just had to try it. When we got there we realized that the restaurant not only makes amazing breakfast, but they also put in countless hours and funds into making the community and surrounding neighborhood a better place. I am so glad we got to try this place out. It feels great to know that I can eat good food and contribute to a good cause. It's a win win situation! After breakfast we walked to China town where we got to see a temple as well as make a wish using wishing ribbons. Here are a few pictures from breakfast and my walk around the city.

Singapore

Jul 19, 2014

Hey hey!! How is everybody doing? I hope you are all doing well and even better now because I have a new outfit post! This is what I wore for a day of shopping while in Singapore with my sister. I absolutely loved my time here. Everyone we met was super friendly and always willing to help us out. For example, I dropped my Iphone on in the mall and didn't realize it was gone until I was on the other side of the mall. We spent 30 minutes tracing our steps and asking all the stores we had been into if they found it. We had no luck and I told myself that I was just going to have to deal with not having a phone for the next couple weeks, but my sister wasn't giving up. She asked every information desk if someone turned in a phone and luckily some sweet angel had picked it up and turned it into the lost & found. I never met this person but I wish I did so I could say thank you a million times. It's random acts of kindness like this that will forever keep my faith in humanity. Anyways, I'm still in Sydney now and tomorrow we leave for Cairns. Hopefully the wifi is better so I can go back to my regular blogging routine and Instagram posts, but I will talk to you all again very soon!

Gardens by the Bay

Jul 13, 2014

I can't believe I haven't posted anything from my trip to Singapore yet. We arrived in Australia a few days ago, but it was a complete struggle trying to get my laptop to connect to the internet. Wifi in the hotel rooms is super expensive, but we managed to connect for free in the lobby by using a restaurant's network next door . The only problem is sometimes it doesn't connect to my laptop which is what was happening yesterday when I tried to put up this post. It's cooperating now and I'm so happy to be back blogging. On this day we visited the Gardens by the Bay park. This place was unlike anything I have seen before. The garden was beautiful during the day, but at night it was absolutely breathtaking.

Birthday in Bali

Jul 8, 2014

It's almost midnight here in Bali and my birthday is coming to an end, but it has been one of the best days of my life. From the early morning birthday surprises to having my first experience at a spa, this is one birthday I'll never forget. A big thank you to my sister who planned everything perfectly and managed to keep it all a secret. No worries, more pictures from my day will be up soon, but for now we'll start with this outfit.

4th of July

Jul 4, 2014

Happy Independence Day from Malaysia! I hope your day is filled with lots of love and BBQ. I am so jet-lagged right now I could fall asleep any second. We got into Singapore this morning at midnight and I told myself I was going to the hotel and straight to bed. In a perfect world I would've gone to sleep around 1:30 and gotten up at a decent hour. Of course that isn't even close to what happened. The car that was supposed to take us to our hotel ended up breaking down, and we had to wait at the airport for an extra 2 hours until everything was sorted out. We tried to take a taxi, but our hotel was in Malaysia and the taxis didn't travel across the border. We were doomed. I was prepared to sleep on the floor at the airport, but we didn't have to worry about that. The company finally sent out a new car and we were on our way.

Navy Jumpsuit

Jul 2, 2014

hey hey! The time is 4:15 a.m. and I'm still up. I leave for the airport in a few hours and of course I just finished packing. So typical of me, but I managed to keep my bag at exactly 42 pounds! Packing for a month-long trip was one of the hardest things I've had to do, but I'm finally ready to go. We have a 13 hour flight to Tokyo, a 6 hour layover, and then a 6 hour flight to Singapore. So basically I'll have all the time in the world to sleep and watch movies. I don't know when I'll have internet again, but as soon as I get a connection another post will be coming your way. I'm off to get ready now, but I hope you have a fabulous Wednesday!

Stripes

Jun 27, 2014

Hey hey! Right now I am at the airport waiting to fly to San Francisco/watching the USA vs. Germany game/blogging. Talk about multi-tasking.  Lately, I haven't had much luck when it comes to blogging at the airport. A week and a half ago when I was on the plane back to Austin from Portland, I decided to write out a couple posts. When I have ideas in my head I like to write them down immediately because I'll probably end up forgetting if I don't.

Love and Bright Colors

Jun 25, 2014

Happy Wednesday! I've been running around like a crazy person trying to get everything ready for my trip next month. I leave to Sacramento tomorrow for my last track meet in Longhorn uniform. I'll get back Monday and leave for Singapore on Wednesday so I am trying to get everything packed up before tomorrow so I won't have much to do when I get back.

Summertime

Jun 24, 2014

Good Morning! I am so happy that it is finally summer! Before we get into today's outfit, I must share my summer plans with you.  I am finishing up my last year as an athlete at the University of Texas and preparing for an exciting summer vacation.

Oregon Food Diary

Jun 20, 2014

Normally when we travel to Oregon I stick to eating at national chain restaurants. I guess this year I've become more of an experimental foodie because I've been wanting to try all of the local restaurants wherever we go. This trip I wasn't able to do much taste testing  because I try to eat as healthy as possible before I compete and most of the popular restaurants around my hotel were fried food and pizza. I was able to try a few restaurants and most of them were delicious. Of course I had to stop at a dessert shop after I finished competing. What can I say, I love sweets.

NCAA Championships

Jun 15, 2014

Ah it's been a week since my last blog post. I've missed it so much. Although I wasn't posting any new articles,  I've been creating new content and taking lots of pictures to share with you. So I guess it really wasn't a complete break. Now I'm back and ready to go back to my normal blogging schedule. I have so many posts planned and so many great adventures to document so make sure to stay updated.

Moving on to the point of this post.. Nationals.  My last national championship as a collegiate athlete and it was nothing short of amazing. We went into the meet hoping to win a team national title, and we fought hard for it.
I ended up placing fourth in the high jump. No, it wasn't exactly what I wanted, but I have to be grateful. I jumped a season's best and was able to score valuable points for my team. All of my teammates did so amazing. We had two girls win national titles and the 4x400m relay set a collegiate record! Overall we ended up getting 2nd as a team. It's wasn't the ending we all had hoped for, but we have to be proud of ourselves and the progress we've made this year. I'm going to leave you with some pictures from this past week. Enjoy and I will talk to you on Wednesday!

Travel Day: Oregon Bound

Jun 9, 2014

We finally made it to Eugene, Oregon after a four hour flight and two hour bus ride. It has been a long day of traveling and I am so happy to finally be in bed writing this post. The weather today was perfect. Can it stay this temperature all week please? Not too cold. Not too hot. Just pure perfection. Oregon has been treating me well so far. From the weather to the people, I always feel so welcome when I visit.

Snow Cones and Good Company

Jun 7, 2014

I'm leaving tomorrow for Oregon, and of course I still have a million things to do. I don't know why I always put off everything until the last minute. I haven't packed, I need to get my eyebrows waxed, and my toenails are crying for some attention. O the joys of procrastination. Everything will get done . It always does. How late I'll to have to stay up to get it all done is another story. I am so excited to be going back to Oregon though. I've been there every year for the past four years and its beauty never ceases to amaze me. I always find something new to love about the state every time I visit.

Every Day is Mother's Day

Jun 6, 2014

Today I really wanted to talk about my mom. Maybe it's because we got off the phone right before I started writing this article, or the fact that I never got a chance to post something for Mother's Day because I hadn't started my blog yet. Better late than never right? To be honest, any day is a good day to talk about my sweet mama.  My mom has been nothing short of the perfect parent. She has always been there to support me and she has never left my side. I remember growing up she would wake up every morning during the week  (and I mean every morning) to make us breakfast and make sure we had everything we needed for school that day. I definitely would not be where I am today without her. I know that is so cliché but it is the absolute truth. She was the one who pushed me to stick with track and field and because of it I was able to attend the best university in the world on a full scholarship. I remember all those days I felt like quitting, but she made me continue because she knew what I was capable of and she wanted to see me succeed.

Lady in Red

Jun 4, 2014

I guess I never really took the time to realize how amazing life has been to me and how many awesome opportunities I have been given. When I first came to college in 2010, I was greeted with love encouragement and challenges. I knew these next four years would not be easy, but I also knew that I had an amazing support system to see me through. From then it was school, practice, track meets, awards banquets and a tad bit of vacation. But through it all I've always found a reason to be happy. When I look back on it now, I have so much to be thankful for and so much to work towards in the future.

Plain Jane

Jun 2, 2014

I made it to nationals!! After such a stressful week, I can finally take a sigh of relief. We got back to Austin last night after a long day of traveling, and I couldn't be happier to be home. I've missed my boyfriend and pet bunny so much! A relaxing day is really all I am looking forward to today, but I can't relax too much because nationals is right around the corner. I'll be leaving for Eugene, Oregon on Sunday and staying for an entire week. I cannot wait to share my experiences with you all so make sure to stay updated!

That Black Romper

May 30, 2014

Happy Friday! I'm currently writing this post while in the ice bath. Talk about multi tasking! Taking an ice bath is something that I will never EVER get used to. The first couple of minutes are awful as all I can think about is how cold it is, but after my legs go numb I can focus on other things, like checking Instagram or writing this post. One more day until I compete and I can't wait! I'm getting anxious from all the waiting around, but the time is almost here. I will be sure to update you all after the event. My teammates have all been doing so well. 15 people have punched their tickets to nationals, and I couldn't be happier for them! I can't wait to see how everyone does tomorrow.

Philadelphia Photo and Food Diary

May 29, 2014

OH PHILLY,  you never disappoint. I recently went to Philadelphia for the biggest track meet of the year, Penn Relays. My first time in the city was my freshman year, (3 years ago) and I've been dying to go back ever since. This track meet is like no other, and the energy from the crowd is like nothing I have ever experienced before. Being there puts me in such a great mood and I'm so grateful that I got the chance to return for my senior year. We stayed at The Inn at Penn, and let me tell you it is the furthest thing from an "Inn". It was definitely one of the nicer hotels I have stayed at while being on the track team, and the location is prefect. It is so close to restaurants, shops, and most importantly, the track stadium. After competing, I made sure to take some time to explore the city. When I say explore the city what I really mean is explore the food. Philly has so many good restaurants, and I wish I had time to try them all. I did manage to go to a few, and I'm excited to share my thoughts from each with you as well as some pictures from my trip!

Regional Flowers

May 28, 2014

Hello from Arkansas! We arrived in town today for the NCAA West Regional track meet. I don't compete until Saturday, so until then there will be lots of anxiety and even more waiting around. I'm not sure why I still get so nervous before a track meet.  I've been high jumping since I was 10 years old so you would think that I should be familiar enough with it to go out and jump with my eyes closed right? Wrong. The pressure I feel to perform at 100%, and the level of nervousness that I experience before every meet (especially the big meets) never changes.

Happy Memorial Day!

May 26, 2014

Memorial Day comes at one of the best times of year for me. School is out, which means no more all night cram sessions, and summer is quickly approaching. This holiday is one of those where I can relax, eat some good BBQ, and of course remember all of the people who gave their lives for my country.

School Girl

May 26, 2014

This outfit definitely reminds me of a school girl.  It takes me back to the days when we slept in class, made tons of mistakes, and unforgettable memories. Back in high school I was forced to wear uniform that usually consisted of a long navy or khaki pleated skirt, a collared shirt that was way too big, and some type of flats because heels weren't even an option. While its not 6:30am and I don't hear my mom's voice yelling, "If you don't get up you're going to be late for school," putting on this outfit took me back to those days.
